Benny's First Day of Preschool

We all knew that the day had to come, and then September 4th, 2003 finally arrived - Benny's first day of preschool.

Saxon Hill School is a wonderful parent cooperative school, right around the corner from us. We got Benny excited about school by talking about it, all summer long. Towards the end of August we visited the school on several occasions, and had a few play-dates with his classmates. One afternoon Lorie [his soon-to-be teacher] came over to visit him. All of these efforts were supposed to get Benny comfortable with the idea of going to school.

And it was all worth it, because when we dropped him off that first day he was excited to see the teacher [Lorie Ballus], the sandbox [with dump trucks and diggers], as well as some of his new friends. He only showed a little concern at the very end, but didn't shed a tear!

1- Ready to play!

2- Waiting to meet the teacher.

3- A quick check of the nose...

4- A little nervous, but doing fine.
